A push button that has cracked, stuck or dropped through its hole is replaced as a stock part, and fitting the new one is a simple job for a handyman, plumber or your original installer. Before You Order

Have your model and serial number ready and say which button it is: water jets, air massage, or light. A photo of the button and of the open access panel helps the team match the part. If the button is intact but nothing responds, work through push control troubleshooting first, because a hose that slipped off is a common cause and needs no new part. The job needs access to the underside of the deck where the buttons sit, which you reach through the magnetic access panel next to the door. If your tub is already installed and you cannot find that access, tell the team before the part ships.

Removing the Old Button

1. Close the drain so the spring or any small parts cannot be lost.
2. From the top of the tub, thread a screw into the pushable part of the old button and pull the button out of the tub. The team can send a short video showing the removal.
3. Under the tub, find the old air hose and detach it from the pump or control box port so it can be pulled out with the button.

Installing the New Button

1. Attach the new air hose to the underside of the new button.
2. Apply a generous bead of clear kitchen and bath silicone to the underside of the button. The team recommends GE Advanced Silicone 2 clear kitchen and bath caulk. Drop the button into the hole and clean up the excess.
3. Under the tub, find the pooled hose and use channel locks or pliers to pull it around toward the access panel.
4. Connect the hose. Depending on your configuration it goes to the labeled air switch port on the control box or directly to the air switch on the pump. On a pump connection, unscrew the white nut, remove the old hose, move the nut onto the new hose and push the new hose in.
5. Pull the hose off the box or pump for a moment and reconnect it. If you skip this step the button is air-locked and will not work.
6. Let the silicone cure fully, following the instructions on the tube, before using the tub.

Spring-Loaded Button Cores

Some buttons are replaced as a core that fits into the existing assembly. Remove the new button from its assembly, and keep hold of the spring because the button is spring loaded. Thoroughly clean the inside of the old button assembly, apply a light penetrating lubricant such as 3-IN-ONE inside the assembly and on the outside shaft of the new button, then fit the spring and the new button into place.

Checking Your Work

Press the button and confirm the right function starts. If a different function responds, the hose is on the wrong port and needs to be moved to the correct pump or control box connection.
