What does the Ella Ultimate 30 by 60 walk-in tub include?

The Ella Ultimate is the single-seat walk-in tub built to the 30 by 60 inch footprint of a standard bathtub, and it always ships fully jetted: hydro massage at the seat, an independent hydro foot and calf massage on its own pump with an in-line water heater, three-speed air massage with Auto Purge, and LED chromatherapy, for 34 jets in all. Size, Seat and Capacity

• Actual size: 29.625 by 59.50 by 35.75 inches. The 30 by 60 in the name is the rounded nominal size, and the inch figures on the spec sheet are the ones to measure against.
• Seat width: 21 inches, with about 51 1/4 inches of interior length and about 18 1/2 inches from the top of the seat to the overflow.
• Water capacity: 95 gallons unoccupied and 55 to 85 gallons occupied, depending on the bather.
• Weight: 220 pounds net and 350 pounds as shipped, in a shipping size of 33 by 63 by 47 inches.

Because the actual length is 59.5 inches, an alcove measured at a true 59 inches is too short for it, so measure wall to wall at the finished surfaces before you order. The Four Therapy Systems That Come Standard

The Ultimate is one of the tubs that comes as a massage tub only; there is no soaking version. Its spec sheet lists four systems, each with its own push control.

Two details are worth knowing before the first bath. On the three-speed air control the first press is high, the second is medium, the third is low, and a fourth press turns the air off. Auto Purge activates automatically 20 minutes after the air pump is turned off and runs for 120 seconds to blow residual water out of the air lines; it cannot be stopped and is normal even if it starts while you are still in the tub. 3. Removable front apron with two access panels, and one reversible end panel that can go on either side.
4. Stainless steel chrome finish grab bars, one deck-mounted and one wall-mounted.
5. Removable swivel tray in white matte finish for a book or a beverage.
6. Two 2 inch 4-port PVC drains with two overflows and two stainless steel operated openers with extended chrome handles. The T-type drain lets the pipe run in either direction, with caps on the unused ports; PVC pipe connections are not included and reducers can be used for smaller drain pipes.
7. The 5-piece single lever Fast-Fill faucet, rated up to 18 GPM at 60 PSI under ideal in-home plumbing conditions, with a pull-out hand shower in chrome on a 5 foot retractable braided hose limited to 1.9 GPM, and two 3/4 inch by 5 foot braided stainless steel supply lines. Shut-off valves are not included. The video notes that you can choose between the five-piece set and a two-piece set, each with a multi-function hand shower.

Options and Special Orders

The spec sheet lists two optional features, a heated seat and backrest and a digital controller in place of the push buttons. Infusion microbubble therapy is available on the Ultimate as a special order, and it must be chosen at order time because it cannot be added to a tub later. The electrical requirement is a dedicated GFCI protected 110/120 volt line or lines, with every electrical fixture on a GFCI protected outlet or breaker, so plan that with your electrician before the tub arrives. Who the Ultimate Suits

The Ultimate is the seated tub the team points taller bathers toward when they want a deeper, more upright soak, because its full 60 inch length adds legroom that a 52 inch tub cannot. Replacing a standard 30 by 60 bathtub does not require a 60 inch walk-in tub, since a 52 inch model ships with an extension panel to fill the alcove, so the advice is to choose by the bather rather than by the opening: a shorter bather may be perfectly comfortable in a 52 inch tub, while a taller or broader bather benefits from the Ultimate's length.
