Does the Lifetime Warranty Pay the Electrician or Handyman Who Checks My Tub?

Updated November 2026

No. The Ella's Bubbles Lifetime Limited Warranty is a parts warranty, so it does not pay the electrician, plumber or handyman who comes out to check the power or repair your tub, even when the problem turns out to be a covered part. What the warranty provides is the verified replacement part, shipped at no charge to the original installation address, and what comes with every tub is free lifetime technical support that can often find the fault by phone or video before anyone bills you for a visit. The published split between the tub and the labor is laid out in Does the Ella Warranty Cover Installation Labor or Only the Tub Itself?.

Where the Warranty Draws the Line

The warranty is written for the first purchaser at the original installation address, and everything it covers is a physical part. The bathtub shell, frame, door, door seal and finish are covered for life, parts only. So is the supporting equipment: motors, pumps, fixtures, electronic controls, the faucet, the waste, the overflow and the plated finishes. Two exceptions sit alongside that list. The thermostatic control valve carries a 1-year limited warranty, and a faucet that is not an Ella brand is covered by its own manufacturer rather than by Ella's Bubbles.

What is never covered is the work. Installation, labor, removal and replacement work stay with the owner and with the installer who warrants their own workmanship. Plumbing and electrical connections stay with the licensed plumber or electrician who made them. Water damage to structures or property is excluded. The published terms put it plainly: Ella's Bubbles will not be liable for incidental expenses or material charges in connection with removal or replacement of the product or its parts.

For the question in the title, that means the visit itself is on you. If the electrician finds a tripped breaker, a loose cord or a failed pump, the time spent finding it is labor. If the pump has failed, the pump is covered for life and ships at no charge once the defect is verified, but the person who disconnects the old one and fits the new one bills you directly. A warranty claim ends with a box at your door, not a technician in your bathroom.

Call Technical Support Before You Book the Electrician

Because the visit is not reimbursed, the smartest first step is the one that costs nothing. Technical support is free for the life of the tub, and the team troubleshoots with you by phone and live video to determine what, if anything, needs exchanging. Many power and control complaints turn out to need no part at all, just a reconnected air tube or a cord that has worked loose, and the team walks you through those checks on the call.

Have these ready before you reach out:

  • A one or two sentence description of the symptom, such as which feature stopped and whether anything else still works.
  • Photos or a short video of the tub, the controls and the equipment behind the removable panels.
  • Your model and serial number, found on the label inside one of the removable panels next to the door.
  • Where and when the tub was purchased.

Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support or call (800) 480-6850. If the team confirms that a part has failed, it ships to you after verification from your photos, with directions for fitting it. Only then do you need to decide who fits it, and by that point you know exactly what the job is, which makes it far easier to get a sensible written estimate from a local pro. Who Can Come Out and Fix My Walk-In Tub? walks through this order of operations, including what to do when the original installer will not come back or the dealer has closed.

Which Local Pro to Call, and What Ella Gives Them

Nearly every repair on an Ella tub, from a button and air hose to a valve or a control box, is ordinary plumbing and electrical work, so the right person is usually the same tradesperson you would call for any other fixture in the house. A licensed electrician handles the wiring for the therapy systems and anything to do with the power supply. A licensed plumber handles the water supply, the drain and the faucet. A handyman can take on simple jobs, such as bolting a complete replacement door to the existing hinges with an Allen wrench. Who Installs a Walk-In Tub: a Plumber, an Electrician, or a Contractor? explains which trade does which part of the job.

Prior Ella experience is not required, and no Ella certification exists or is needed. The team supports any licensed plumber, electrician or handyman with manuals, videos and a phone or video call while they are on site during business hours, so your contractor can have a support agent look at the tub with them and answer questions as they go. Installation manuals and specification sheets for every model are on each product page's Downloads tab, and the electrical diagrams for your therapy package are shared with whoever does the work.

Because the work is arranged directly between you and the contractor, labor pricing is set by the contractor and never by Ella's Bubbles. Ask anyone you are considering for a written estimate before they come out. If you have no one in mind, the team keeps a nationwide network of partner dealers and independent installers and will look up the one closest to your installation address, as described in Does Ella's Bubbles Recommend Local Installers or Contractors for Service?. You are never required to use that referral.

Who Stands Behind the Labor

The installer who did the work warrants the work. Where an Ella dealer sold and installed the tub, the dealer's crew handles the follow-up visits and you have one number to call, so contact where you purchased first when a problem appears. Be aware that some dealers will not work on tubs they did not sell or install, and that a dealer closing does not end your support: technical support and the parts warranty come from Ella's Bubbles, the manufacturer, and continue regardless of who sold the tub.

One more place to look is your paperwork. Clearance and fixed units are sold as configured, and some clearance listings carry a limited parts warranty of a stated number of years, or none at all. That warranty line on the listing governs rather than the standard Lifetime Limited Warranty, while lifetime technical support comes with every Ella tub regardless, as My Clearance Tub Was Sold With a Door Leak. Can It Be Fixed? explains. In every case the labor side works the same way: the pro who checks the power is paid by you, and the part that is found faulty is shipped by Ella's Bubbles.

Common Questions

Will Ella reimburse the electrician's bill if a covered part caused the problem?
No. The warranty ships the verified replacement part at no charge to the original installation address, and that is the full extent of the remedy. Incidental expenses and material charges connected with removing or replacing the product or its parts are excluded, so the electrician's time is paid by you whatever the cause turns out to be.
Can my electrician call Ella while they are at my house?
Yes. Lifetime technical support is available to whoever does the work, and the team will talk with any licensed plumber, electrician or handyman by phone or live video while they are on site during business hours. Prior experience with Ella tubs is not required, and the team can share the specification sheet and electrical diagram for your tub.
Does Ella send a technician when my tub has no power?
No. Ella's Bubbles is the manufacturer and does not have service technicians or installation crews. Technical Support troubleshoots with you by phone and live video, ships any part that is verified as defective, and a local licensed electrician or plumber does the hands-on work.
Do I have to use the original installer for the power check?
No. Any licensed local electrician can do the work, because no Ella certification or specialist training is needed. The original installer is the natural first call because that person warrants their own workmanship, and if they are unavailable the team can look up a partner installer near your installation address.
What should I do before paying anyone to look at the tub?
Gather a short description of the symptom, photos or a brief video, your model and serial number from the label inside a removable panel, and where and when you bought the tub. Then open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support or call (800) 480-6850. Many power and control complaints are resolved on the call with a reconnected air tube or a cord plugged back in, with no part and no visit needed.
