Does the walk-in tub package include the wall surround shown in the photo?

Updated October 2026

No. The wall tile surround pictured behind an Ella walk-in tub is not part of the tub package. Ella's wall surround kits and wall tiles are their own products, ordered separately through your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850, and when a surround is bought together with a tub it ships on top of the tub order rather than inside the tub crate. The wall options themselves are listed in Where can I buy acrylic shower wall panels for my Ella bathroom?, and this page explains what the tub package does contain, which wall products appear in the photos, and how to confirm the included items for the exact listing you are looking at.

What the Tub Package Actually Contains

Each Ella spec sheet lists exactly what comes with that tub, and there is no wall kit on any of those lists. For the Standard 30x52, the included items are the acrylic shell, the stainless steel frame with leveling legs, the inward swing door, the front and end access panels, the grab bar, the extension panel and the towel bar. The Standard also ships as a hydro-massage tub with the 5-piece Ella Fast-Fill faucet with pull-out hand shower and one 2-inch gravity floor drain with overflow and emergency pull-up chain. Air plus hydro jet tubs include the 5-piece fast-fill faucet with a handheld shower, two stainless steel grab bars in a chrome finish and a 2-inch dual drain with two openers. Those lists are complete. Anything you see in a photo that is not on them is a separate product or part of the homeowner's existing bathroom.

Two items people expect to find in the crate are not there. The first is the wall surround. The second is the tile flange that seals the tub rim to a finished wall, which is an after-market item sold separately. The glue-up tile flange video on this page shows what that kit contains, a roll of Sealux flexible flange, alcohol surface cleaning cloths, a custom spatula tool and a strip alignment card, and how the strip position is marked on the walls before the tub is set in place. If your plan has tile or panels meeting the tub rim, treat the flange and the walls as their own line items from the start.

The Wall Products You See in the Photos

Product photos show the tub in a finished alcove, and the walls behind it can be one of several Ella wall systems or a wall the homeowner already had. These are the Ella wall products a photo may be showing, with their published sizes.

  • Acrylic 6-piece kit in Carrara White. Six acrylic pieces cover a 36 by 60 inch alcove to a finished height of 92 inches, with storage shelves on the left side, and the panels are 1/8 inch thick. The Acrylic 6-Piece Wall Panel Kit guide compares it with the other acrylic format.
  • Acrylic 3-piece surround in solid white gloss. A 40 inch deep by 60 inch wide footprint standing 97 inches tall, with a 1-inch bend at each panel edge. It is deeper and taller than the 6-piece kit, so ceiling height matters.
  • SMC subway-tile-look panels. Sheet molding compound kits in 6-piece or 12-piece form at 36 by 60 by 96 inches, plus a 6-piece kit at 48 inches high sized for walk-in tub surrounds that do not need floor-to-ceiling coverage. Choosing the right height is covered in Can SMC subway wall panels be cut to fit a shorter ceiling or window?
  • Grout-free tiles sold by the box. The gray marble panel tile comes in packs of 8 covering about 21 square feet, the interlocking click tile covers about 16 square feet per box in five colors, and the 12 by 24 inch grout-free tile, including Carrara White, is bought by the box. How Many Wall Tiles or Panels Come in an Ella Box or Kit? puts the counts side by side.
  • Cultured marble travertine surround. The cultured marble video on this page shows these panels, a natural quartz and granite composite with a gel coat surface, sold as eight, six or four panel surrounds that one person can carry and install and that glue over drywall, plaster, painted walls, Durock or existing tile.

None of these is bundled with a tub. A listing that pictures one of them is showing a finished installation, not the contents of the crate, and the same tub photographed in a different home would show different walls.

How a Wall Kit Ships When You Order It with the Tub

When panels are ordered together with a tub, they ship with the tub order, and the acrylic 3-panel surround kits are described as shipping on top of the walk-in tub order. In practice the surround is its own line on your order, packed separately and delivered on the same freight shipment as the tub. That is convenient for your installer, because the walls and the tub arrive together, but it only happens if the surround was actually added to the order.

Before you add one, measure the alcove width, the depth and the height from the tub rim to the ceiling, because each kit is built for a specific footprint. The 6-piece acrylic kit and the SMC kits are sized for a 36 by 60 inch alcove, and the 3-piece surround for a 40 by 60 inch alcove. The 48 inch high SMC kit exists for walls above a walk-in tub that do not need to reach the ceiling. If your alcove is larger or smaller than the kit footprint, give those measurements to your Ella dealer or the team so they can advise on fit before anything ships. Panels that are ordered to the wrong footprint are a far bigger problem on installation day than a missing flange.

How to Confirm What a Specific Listing Includes

  1. Note the tub model and size, for example Standard 30x52, and keep the listing you were looking at open.
  2. Ask your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 to read back the included items for that exact listing. The spec sheet list is the reference.
  3. If you want the walls in the photo, ask which wall product it is and whether its footprint matches your alcove measurements.
  4. Ask about the tile flange at the same time if tile or panels will meet the tub rim.
  5. Check your order confirmation. A surround, tiles or flange you expect should appear as their own items, and if they do not, say so before the order ships.

Doing this before you order avoids the most common surprise on delivery day, a crate that contains exactly what the spec sheet promises and nothing more. It also lets your installer plan the wall work, the flange and the tub set as one job instead of discovering the walls still need to be ordered after the tub is in the room.

Common Questions

Is the tile surround in the tub photo included with the tub?
No. Wall surround kits and wall tiles are separate Ella products. The tub spec sheet lists what ships with the tub, and no wall kit appears on that list. Ask your Ella dealer or the team to read back the included items for the listing you saw.
What does the Standard 30x52 tub package include?
The spec sheet lists the acrylic shell, the stainless steel frame with leveling legs, the inward swing door, the front and end access panels, the grab bar, the extension panel and the towel bar. The Standard ships as a hydro-massage tub with the 5-piece Ella Fast-Fill faucet with pull-out hand shower and one 2-inch gravity floor drain with overflow.
Is the tile flange included with an Ella walk-in tub?
No. The tile flange that seals the tub to a finished wall is an after-market item sold separately. The glue-up flange kit includes the Sealux strip, cleaning cloths, a spatula tool and an alignment card, as the video on this page shows.
If I order a wall kit with my tub, does it ship together?
Yes. Panels ordered together with a tub ship with the tub order, and the 3-panel surround kits are described as shipping on top of the tub order. The surround is still its own line item, so check that it appears on your order confirmation.
Which wall kit fits above a walk-in tub?
The 6-piece acrylic kit and the SMC kits are sized for a 36 by 60 inch alcove, the 3-piece surround for a 40 by 60 inch alcove, and the 48 inch high SMC 6-piece kit is sized for walk-in tub surrounds that do not need floor-to-ceiling coverage. Measure the alcove width, depth and the height from the tub rim to the ceiling, then confirm fit with the team.
