Yes. Ella's Bubbles builds walk-in tubs that are a full 72 inches long, and any Ella walk-in tub ordered with an Ella deck-mount fast-fill faucet can be used as a tub and shower combo, with the optional shower column kit adding an overhead rain shower. The two six-foot models are the ShaK at 36 inches by 72 inches and the LayDown 32x72, and What Is the Best Walk-In Tub and Shower Combo? explains why there is no separate combo model to look for.
Why a Six-Foot Combo Is a Six-Foot Tub Plus a Faucet
Ella does not sell a combo as a separate product. Two pieces turn any of its walk-in tubs into a shower. The first is the extendable multi-function hand shower that comes with the 2-piece and 5-piece fast-fill faucet sets, so you can rinse while seated even without a column. The second is the shower column kit, which connects to either faucet set and adds a height-adjustable hand shower that tilts and swivels, plus a large overhead rain shower head that pivots for a standing or seated shower. The video on this page shows the column in use: push the diverter button on the 2-piece set or turn the diverter handle on the 5-piece set for the five-setting hand shower, then engage the diverter for the shower head and the overhead rain shower comes on.
That means a six-foot walk-in tub and shower combo is really two questions. Which Ella tubs are 72 inches long, and can that tub be ordered with the Ella faucet and the column? The first has a clear answer in the spec figures below. The second is settled with your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 when you order, because the column is chosen with the tub and has to be fitted before the tub is finally set in place.
Ella Tubs by Length, from 55 to 72 Inches
The table lists the models whose lengths appear in Ella's size and height guides, longest first. Only the ShaK and the LayDown 32x72 reach a full six feet.
| Model | Footprint | Seat or interior | Water capacity | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ella ShaK | 36 in by 72 in | 28 in extra-wide seat | 145 gallons unoccupied | The six-foot single-seat tub, built for tall and wide bathers |
| Ella LayDown 32x72 | 32 in by 72 in | 61 in by 28 in interior; 15 in soaking depth | not listed | Six-foot lie-down tub that fits bathers over six feet tall |
| Ella Big4One | 33 1/8 in by 66 in | 24 in seat | 127 gallons unoccupied; 75 to 100 gallons occupied | Five and a half feet, with a long seat and interior for a bather around six feet |
| Ella Ultimate 30x60 | 30 in by 60 in | 21 in seat | 95 gallons unoccupied; 55 to 85 gallons occupied | Full-length seated tub at five feet |
| Ella LayDown 30x60 | 30 in by 60 in | 53 in by 25 1/2 in interior; 15 in soaking depth | not listed | Low-profile lie-down tub at five feet, only 21 in high |
| Ella Deluxe 30x55 | 30 in by 55 in | 21 in seat; 46.5 in interior length | 107 gallons unoccupied; 60 to 75 gallons occupied | Deeper seated soak without a 60 in footprint |
The difference is where the extra length goes. On the ShaK it goes into a long seat and a long interior, which is why it suits tall and wide bathers and feels oversized to an average or shorter person. On the LayDown 32x72 it goes into a 61 inch interior for lying flat. If your wall only has five feet to give, the Ultimate 30x60 is the full-length seated choice, and it becomes a shower combo in exactly the same way, with the faucet and the column. Bigger is not automatically better, so match the tub to the bather and the wall before you decide on six feet.
Faucet and Column Availability on the Six-Foot Models
The faucet is what makes the combo, so check it model by model.
- LayDown 32x72. This tub is faucet-ready and offers optional Ella deck-mount faucets, so the hand shower that comes with the fast-fill set is available on it. Ask your Ella dealer or the team whether the shower column kit is offered with the faucet package on your order.
- LayDown 30x60. This tub is never sold with a factory faucet and has no faucet option at all. It needs a pre-existing or customer-supplied faucet, usually wall-mounted. Because the shower column kit connects to the Ella 2-piece or 5-piece fast-fill set, the five-foot LayDown is not built as an Ella tub and shower combo, and a shower on it is a wall-mounted fixture fitted by your plumber.
- ShaK and Big4One. Both are ordered with the door side, therapy package, faucet and accessories confirmed before the tub is built and tested. Confirm the faucet set and the column together with your dealer or the team, since the column must be installed before the final installation of the tub.
The column also adds height. The rain head reaches a maximum of approximately 90 inches, with 14 inches of adjustment to bring it down to approximately 76 inches, so measure the ceiling above the tub before you commit to it. The tubs themselves stand between 35 inches for the Petite and Elite and 39 inches for the Deluxe, while the LayDown 30x60 is only 21 inches high, as How Tall Are Walk-In Tubs Compared to Standard Tubs? lists model by model. The height of the LayDown 32x72 is not listed in the sources on this page.
Six Feet Long, or Six Feet Tall?
Many people who search for a six-foot combo are really asking which tub fits a six-foot-tall bather, and that is a different question, answered in What size walk-in tub fits a six-foot-tall person?. The Ella models built with long seats and long interiors are the Big4One and the ShaK, and in Ella's video bathers up to 6 feet 10 inches fit the ShaK comfortably. Height alone does not choose the tub, though. Sit in a chair facing a wall and take three measurements: your hips while seated, which the seat must exceed, your shoulder width while seated, and your length from head to feet. Ella seats run from 19 inches on the Petite and Transfer26 to 29 inches on the TransferXXL, and the seat-to-overflow depth runs roughly 15 to 18 inches across the mid-size models, so a tall bather with a long torso sits higher in the water on the same seat than a shorter one.
A two-seat tub is another way to give one tall bather room to stretch out, with feet up on the second seat. The Tub4Two and the Companion come with a 2-piece fast-fill faucet set and the Big4Two comes with a dual 2-piece set, and both sets feature an extendable multi-function shower head, so the two-seat tubs are shower combos as well. Their lengths are not listed in the sources on this page, so ask for the spec sheet before you compare them with the ShaK.
Ordering and Installing a Six-Foot Combo
The tub, the faucet set, the column and the four-fold glass screen that keeps spray inside the tub are all chosen together when you order through your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850, and the tub ships nationwide from Ella's Chicago facility. Installation is a separate job for a local licensed plumber or electrician rather than for Ella's Bubbles, and the column needs access to the back side of the tub, so it goes on before the tub is finally set in place.
