- For glue or silicone that remains on the tub, dampen a soft cloth with denatured alcohol and work the spot gently, letting the alcohol soften the residue rather than scrubbing at it.
- For old silicone in shower seams, wipe the bead with rubbing alcohol and give it time to soak in. The alcohol will not fully dissolve the silicone, but it breaks it down enough to peel and lift by hand, and a second pass cleans the remaining film.
- For a thick, cured bead on either surface, ease the bulk up gently with a plastic edge rather than a metal blade or razor, then finish the film with alcohol.
