The Escape is Ella's newest two-seat tub, and the product video describes it as a large, comfortable tub with a tremendous amount of interior soaking space: a full 27 inch wide seat on one side, 29 inches on the other, and 60 inches of overall soaking length. The spec sheet gives the rest:

Two Independent Seats, One Tub

Ella's two-seat video tour draws a line worth remembering: do not confuse an extra-large bathtub with a two-seat bathtub. A true two-seater has two independent bathing spaces, and on the Escape each seat has its own jets. The seat hydro system puts 9 upper seat jets on each seat, 18 in all, and the air system puts 8 seat jets on each seat, 16 in all, plus 3 foot jets. The Escape's independent foot massage means you do not need to fill the whole tub to enjoy it. The foot and calf hydro system has its own 7 amp, 1,000 watt pump, its own intensity dial and its own push control, feeding 4 foot jets and 4 calf jets, with a 5.5 amp, 650 watt in-line water heater and 0.04 amp ozone sterilization on that loop. The Therapy Package in Detail

  • Seat hydro massage: a 7 amp, 1,000 watt pump, an intensity dial air control, 18 upper seat jets, controlled by the digital controller.
  • Foot and calf hydro massage: a 7 amp, 1,000 watt pump, an intensity dial, 4 foot and 4 calf jets, on/off push control, a 5.5 amp, 650 watt in-line water heater and 0.04 amp ozone sterilization.
  • Air massage: a 4.5 amp, 500 watt three-speed pump with 16 seat jets and 3 foot jets, controlled by the digital controller. Auto purge activates 20 minutes after the pump is turned off to clear water from the air lines and keep the tub fresh for each use.
  • LED chromatherapy: a 0.5 amp multicolor LED bulb on a transformer, run from the digital control pad.
  • Optional microbubble therapy: a 1 horsepower, 7.3 amp pump with a pressure vessel, an agitator valve and an on/off push control.

Door, Faucet, Drains and Deck

The Escape uses Ella's custom-crafted brushed stainless steel door with frosted tempered glass. It swings inward and is removable for easy cleaning. As with every Ella walk-in tub, there is a low threshold and a textured floor for slip resistance. The tub fills through a twin two-piece fast-fill faucet set, rated up to 16 gallons per minute at 60 PSI with ideal in-home plumbing, fed by two 5 foot supply lines with 3/4 inch connectors. Each two-piece faucet has a solid brass chrome spout and a 5-setting pull-out hand shower mixer on a 5 foot stainless braided hose, limited to 1.9 gallons per minute, so each bather has their own hand shower. The spec sheet notes the faucet is designed to install through a 2 1/2 inch diameter hole for the faucet, a 1/3 inch diameter hole for the mounting rods and a 7/8 inch diagonal hole for the hand shower.

Draining is Ella's dual drain technology: two 2 inch 4-port PVC drains with 2 end caps, 2 overflows and 2 stainless steel operated openers with extended chrome handles.
