Adjusting the thermostatic control valve (TCV) on an Ella's Bubbles walk-in tub allows for hotter water. This video demonstrates how to access and internally set the TCV for increased water temperature.
To get hotter water from your TCV faucet, first remove the set screw cover and loosen the set screw with an Allen wrench. Inside the TCV handle, a spring-loaded locking pin acts as the anti-scald mechanism, setting against a locking collar. The button on this pin must be pushed to increase the temperature, and it springs back when set at 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit.
To internally set the TCV for a hotter water temperature, place the handle on top of the brass fitting and turn it to warmer water. Briefly take the handle off the brass fitting, then reset it, turning the handle a quarter turn counterclockwise. This adjustment allows more hot water to flow through the valve, increasing the water temperature.
After adjusting the temperature, ensure the anti-scald button is set correctly. Retighten the set screw with the Allen wrench and replace the set screw cover. This process addresses issues where the tub water is too hot or the hand sprayer runs hot but the tub spout is only lukewarm.
