The Ella Big4Two is the largest of Ella's Bubbles two-seat walk-in tubs: an acrylic tub with two molded seats facing each other, an outward-swing door and an actual size of 36 x 80 x 40 inches. It comes with hydro massage for the seat jets, a separate hydro system for the foot and calf jets, three-speed air massage and an LED chromatherapy light, all included, with microbubble therapy and heated seats as options. Check the shipping size against the route into your bathroom before you order. As the video tours point out, a true two-seat tub has two independent bathing spaces rather than one oversized seat, and it is also very comfortable for one person, who can stretch out with their feet on the other seat.

Door, Shell and Drains

The Big4Two uses a plastic composite and tempered glass outward-swing door with Ella's 3-latch gear and shaft mechanism, the same door style as the Tub4Two, while the Companion and Escape use the inward-swing stainless steel door. The shell is gloss white acrylic reinforced with fiberglass gelcoat on a stainless steel frame with adjustable leveling legs. The tub includes a removable front apron with two access panels, one reversible end panel and a chrome wall-mounted grab bar. Draining is gravity driven through two 2-inch 4-port PVC drains with two end caps, two overflows and two stainless-steel operated openers with extended chrome handles, one opener for each drain. The house drain can connect to either or both ports.

Therapy Systems Included

  • Seat hydro massage. A 9A 1250W hydro pump feeds 16 upper seat jets, 8 on each seat, with an intensity dial and a digital controller.
  • Foot and calf hydro massage. A separate 7A 1000W pump runs 4 foot and 4 calf jets with its own intensity dial and an on/off push control, and this loop carries the 6A 800W in-line water heater and the 0.04A ozone sterilization. The video on this page shows how this lets you enjoy a foot and calf massage without filling the entire tub.
  • Air massage. A 4.5A 500W three-speed pump serves 18 seat jets, 9 on each seat, plus 4 foot jets, run from the digital controller. Auto purge starts on its own about 20 minutes after the air pump is turned off and runs for 120 seconds to blow water out of the air lines; that is normal and stops by itself.
  • LED chromatherapy. A multicolor 0.5A LED with transformer, controlled from the digital control pad.

The tub requires dedicated GFCI-protected electrical lines for its 115V 60Hz equipment. Faucet and Accessories

The spec sheet lists the Ella two-piece fast fill faucet, quantity two, rated up to 16 GPM at 60 PSI with ideal in-home plumbing, with two 5-foot supply lines with 3/4-inch connectors and a pull-out chrome hand shower on a 5-foot retractable braided hose, limited to 1.9 GPM.
