Yes. Ella sells its shower wall products per item rather than only as one fixed bundle, so a single large acrylic panel, such as one back wall or one side wall, can be ordered on its own for a one-wall project or as a replacement for a damaged panel in a shower you already have. What the panels are, how they sit over the base and which finishes they come in are explained in What are acrylic shower walls and how do they work in a shower?, and this page covers what can be bought individually, how to size a single panel, and the one situation where the warranty department may send a full set instead.
What Is Sold Individually and What Comes as a Kit
Ella's acrylic wall family is built from a small number of large sheets, and each sheet is a product in its own right. The published sizes are a back wall of 98 by 60 inches and side walls of 36 to 38 inches wide by 96 to 98 inches high, with the plain white panels coming 98 inches high. The familiar three-piece system is one back wall and two side walls bought together, and a six-piece kit is also offered for larger layouts. Because the pieces exist on their own, finishing a single wall or replacing a single end wall is a normal request rather than a special order.
The finish choices are the same whether you buy one panel or a set. Plain white acrylic is the base option, a CNC finish has a pattern engraved into the acrylic by routing, and the digital print finish includes a marble look. Ella's bases, panels and stalls are offered in white only, so the decision is about pattern rather than color. If a smooth surface is the goal, remember that the one-piece molded stalls come only with the tile pattern formed into the walls, as explained in Do Ella Shower Stall Walls Come Smooth, or Only With the Molded Tile Pattern?, so a flat acrylic panel over a separate base is the way to get a plain wall.
| Option | Published size or make-up | Finishes | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single acrylic back wall | 98 by 60 inches | White, CNC, digital print | Finishing or replacing the long wall only |
| Single acrylic side wall | 36 to 38 inches wide by 96 to 98 inches high | White, CNC, digital print | One end wall, or a left or right replacement panel |
| Three-piece acrylic system | One back wall and two side walls, 98 inches high in white | White, CNC, digital print | A full three-wall alcove over an Ella base |
| Six-piece acrylic kit | not listed | not listed | Larger layouts, confirm the pieces with the team |
| Cultured marble travertine surround | Eight, six or four panel surrounds | Gel coat travertine look | Remodels where panels are glued over an existing wall surface |
| Grout-free wall tile | 12 inch by 24 inch tile sold by the box | Includes Carrara White | Covering any number of walls in whole boxes |
What the table means in practice is that the acrylic panel is the only Ella wall product that is a single large sheet sized to one wall, so it is the natural choice when exactly one wall needs covering or one panel needs replacing. The tile is bought in whatever number of boxes your measurements call for, so it scales to one wall just as easily, while the cultured marble surrounds and the acrylic kits are sold as sets. Which of these fits a one-wall job depends on whether you want a seamless sheet or a tiled look, and on whether the wall sits over an Ella base.
Buying Walls Without Buying a Base
Because the shower products are sold per item, wall panels can be ordered without a base, and the grout-free tiles are available on their own for a walk-in shower even when nothing else is being replaced. Where the wall will meet a base you already have, keep the working principle in mind: an Ella wall panel attaches above the base and comes down over its edge so water runs onto the pan rather than behind it. That overlap is what keeps the enclosure dry, so send the team the size and type of your existing base, or of the Ella base you are choosing, and ask whether the panel you want will finish correctly over it. The full range of bases, wall systems and the 8 inch wide L-shaped filler piece that closes a gap to an adjoining wall is summarized in Shower Bases, Walls, and Filler Pieces.
Ordering a Single Replacement Panel
If a panel in an installed Ella shower is damaged, or a left or right end wall needs to be swapped, you order the individual panel rather than a complete kit. Open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support or call (800) 480-6850 with the following so the team can confirm the correct panel before anything ships:
- Your shower model, or the base size and wall kit you have if you are not sure of the model name.
- Which wall you need, back, left or right, as you face the shower.
- Photos of the installed walls and of the damage or fit problem.
- The finish on the existing panels, so the replacement matches.
There is one exception to the single-panel path. When the request is a warranty case, for example panels that do not fit the installed base or that arrived flawed, the warranty department decides from the photos, and it may choose to send a complete shower unit so the base and the walls are matched to each other. In that case you reuse the grab bars and the drain from your original order. Ask the team which of the two paths applies to your shower rather than assuming either one.
Measuring One Wall Before You Order
Each panel and each kit is built for a specific footprint, so a single wall still needs to be measured before it is ordered. Measure the width of the wall and the height from the top of the base, or from the floor, to the ceiling, and compare both figures with the published panel size. A back wall panel is 98 by 60 inches and a side wall is 36 to 38 inches wide by 96 to 98 inches high, so note whether your wall is narrower than the panel and whether the panel will run to the ceiling or stop below it. Mention any window, niche or partial wall, because those change what has to be cut on site. If you are weighing tile instead, measure the same wall in inches, multiply height by width, divide by 144 for square feet, and the box count follows from the coverage printed for that tile, as described in How to Get Pricing and Order Ella Grout-Free Shower Wall Tiles: Measuring Your Walls and Estimating Boxes.
The video on this page shows Ella's cultured marble travertine wall surround, a separate product from the acrylic panels, being glued over drywall, plaster, painted walls, Durock or even existing tile, with factory-finished edges that can still be trimmed and cut for a custom fit. It is a useful picture of how a multi-piece surround goes up and of the kind of wall surface a panel can cover, and it shows that the eight, six or four panel surrounds can be carried and installed by one person. Whether you choose a cultured marble surround or an acrylic panel, your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 can confirm the piece, the finish and the current availability for your wall before you order.
