Yes, they are included on most of the family. The Transfer26, Transfer30 and Transfer32 each ship with one reversible end panel plus an extension panel for a standard 60 inch alcove, and the TransferXXL ships with one reversible end panel and its own extension panel. The Transfer60 is the exception, because at 60 inches long it already fills a standard alcove, so it is listed with one reversible end panel and no extension panel. Both kinds of panel can also be bought on their own, as Can I Buy an Extension or Side Panel Separately, and How Wide Is It? explains, so a quote that lists an extension panel as included matches how the Transfer family is sold.
What Each Transfer Model Ships with
| Model | End panel included | Extension panel included | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transfer26 | One reversible end panel | Yes, for a 60 inch alcove | Shorter than 60 inches, so the panel closes the gap to the alcove wall |
| Transfer30 | One reversible end panel | Yes, for a 60 inch alcove | Shorter than 60 inches, so the panel closes the gap to the alcove wall |
| Transfer32 | One reversible end panel | Yes, for a 60 inch alcove | Shorter than 60 inches, so the panel closes the gap to the alcove wall |
| TransferXXL | One reversible end panel | Oui | Shorter than 60 inches; the panel closes the remaining gap |
| Transfer60 | One reversible end panel | pas | 60 inches long, so it fills a standard alcove without one |
Ella does not publish a width for either panel. The extension panel is trimmed on site, so the alcove decides the finished fit, and an alcove that is slightly out of square or an unusual size is handled the same way. The correct name for the largest model is TransferXXL; there is no XXXL model in the lineup.
Reading the Panel Lines on Your Quote
If your quote says extension panels are included, compare the panel lines against your model. On a Transfer26, Transfer30, Transfer32 or TransferXXL, one reversible end panel and one extension panel are part of the tub as shipped. They are included features of the tub, not add-ons, so a quote may show them as included without a separate charge. A second end panel is different: like the heated seat and backrest and the shower column, it is optional and appears as its own line on your order rather than being bundled into the tub. If a line reads second end panel or additional end panel, that is an extra purchase. On a Transfer60 there should be no extension panel line at all, because the tub needs none. If the quote is not clear, ask your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 to confirm which panel is on the order before the tub is built, and check that any second panel you asked for is listed on the order paperwork.
Extension Panel or End Panel: Which One Are You Asking About
The two panels sit at the same end of the tub and are often confused, but they do different jobs.
- The extension panel, which Ella also calls a fill kit, is the part that makes a tub shorter than 60 inches fit a standard 60 inch alcove. It goes between the tub and the alcove wall, on the right side or the left side of the tub, and it can be trimmed if the alcove is out of square or an unusual size. It also becomes a shelf for towels, shampoos, soaps and other bathing items, carried by integrated stainless steel shelf support brackets that are fully adjustable and part of the tub frame.
- The end panel, sometimes called a side panel or finishing panel, is a finished cover for the exposed short end of the tub. It hides the shell edge, the plumbing and the frame, it is reversible so the same part fits either end, and it attaches with two white screws without adding any length. If the tub sits in the right corner of the bathroom, the panel goes on the opposite left end, and it is reversed if the tub sits in the left corner.
A three-wall alcove covers both short ends, so the included end panel is all that layout calls for. A second end panel is needed only when the tub sits against a single back wall with both short ends open, or stands in the middle of a large bathroom. What Does Free End Panel Mean, and Is One Included With Every Tub? covers that choice, and the video on this page shows the end panel placed on either end and the extension panel closing the alcove gap.
Buying a Panel on Its Own, Now or Later
Any panel beyond what the tub includes is purchased at an additional cost. Panels are cut for a specific model and door side, so the request needs your model, your serial number and which side the door is on, plus a photo of the exposed side when it is for a tub you already own. The serial number is on the label behind the magnetic access panel next to the door.
- At order time, tell your Ella dealer or the team that both ends will be exposed or that you want a spare, and confirm the extra panel is listed as its own line on the order before the tub is built. It then ships with the tub.
- For a tub you already own, call (800) 480-6850 or open a ticket at ellasbubbles.com/support and ask for the panel for your Transfer model. Dealers can place the order on a customer's behalf.
- An invoice is emailed for approval. Payment is by card, either a new card or one already on file for a dealer account.
- Once the panel ships you receive a receipt with the tracking number.

Before the Tub Goes into the House
All removable panels, including the front apron with its access panels, the end panel and the extension panel, must be removed before the walk-in tub is moved into the house and into the bathroom. If you do not need the extra end panel or the extension panel, you can opt out of receiving one or the other to reduce plastic waste; the Transfer60 simply has no extension panel to opt out of. When a separately bought panel arrives, inspect it as soon as it is delivered and keep all packaging. Any shipping damage, including concealed damage found after the driver leaves, must be reported within 48 hours of receipt so a claim can be filed. If the mounting brackets and clips on a new panel look rotated or crooked, that is how they are turned for shipping, not a defect.
