Which Ella Walk-In Tubs Are 60 Inches Long and How Big Are They?

Mis à jour Novembre 2026

Several Ella walk-in tubs carry a 60 inch length instead of the 52 or 55 inch length used on most seated models: the Ultimate, Standard60 and Zen60 at 30 by 60 inches, the Transfer60 at 30 by 60, the LayDown60 at 30 by 60, the Lounger at 27 by 60, the HomeCare transfer bathtub at 32 by 60, and the two-seat Tub4Two and Companion at 32 by 60. Every one of them fills a standard 60 inch alcove outright, so none needs the extension panel that the shorter models use. Four of them can be ordered without jets, which Which 60 inch Ella walk-in tubs come without jets, and how big are they? covers in depth; this page puts every 60 inch model, jetted or not, in one table with nominal and actual footprints.

Every 60 Inch Ella Model Side by Side

The nominal size is the rounded figure in the model name. The actual size is the figure on the spec sheet drawing, and it is the one to measure your alcove against. Where the current sources do not publish an actual figure the cell says not listed, and the spec sheet linked from that model's product page is where to confirm it.

What the table means: length does not separate these tubs, because all of them meet both walls of a 60 inch opening. Width does, climbing from 27 inches on the Lounger to 32 inches on the HomeCare and the two-seat tubs. Height does as well, from 21 inches on the LayDown60, which has no seat, to 40 inches on the Lounger and Transfer60 and 41 3/8 inches on the HomeCare. And the therapy choice splits the group in two: the Lounger, LayDown60, Transfer60 and HomeCare can be ordered as soakers, while the Ultimate, Standard60, Zen60 and the two-seat tubs come only with massage packages. The Companion is the other two-seat tub at 32 by 60 inches, and like the Tub4Two it is a massage tub.

Why a 60 Inch Model Needs No Extension Panel

Most bathtubs, walk-in or conventional, sit in the same three-wall alcove that a standard 60 inch bathtub occupies. Ella's 52 and 55 inch models fill that opening with an extension panel at one end. The video on this page shows the Ella Standard, a 52 inch tub, with the 7 inch extension panel that lets it fit neatly into a 60 inch alcove. The 60 inch models skip that step. The Ultimate, Transfer60 and the two-seat models are listed among the tubs that fill their space without an extension panel, and the Standard60, Zen60, LayDown60, Lounger and HomeCare meet the walls the same way because their length is already 60 inches.

That matters in two situations. If your alcove is exactly 60 inches, a 60 inch model gives you a built-in look with no filler panel to trim. If your alcove is out of square or slightly under 60 inches, remember that an extension panel on a shorter tub is designed to be cut on site, while a 60 inch shell is not, so measure carefully. Why Doesn't the Extension Panel Attach on the Faucet Side? explains how the panel and its brackets work on the shorter tubs.

Nominal Versus Actual Length

A tub named 60 inches long can measure 59 inches. The Lounger's drawing prints 27 by 59 by 40 inches, the HomeCare's prints 59 7/8 inches long, and the Transfer60's prints 29.5 inches wide against its 30 inch nominal width. The LayDown60's drawing agrees with its name at 60 inches long by 30 inches wide by 21 inches high. Small as those differences are, they are the gap your installer works with when the tub is set and the walls are finished, so compare the actual size on the spec sheet with your opening rather than the name.

To take the measurements, follow How do I measure my bathtub and alcove for a replacement?: the length along the back wall, the width from the back wall to the front edge of the existing tub, the height from the floor to the rim, and the end the drain is on. Then measure every doorway and hallway on the route in.

Choosing Among the 60 Inch Tubs

  • Seated, inward swing, jetted. The Ultimate, Standard60 and Zen60 are all 30 by 60 inches with an inward-swing door, so they need no floor space in front of the tub. The Zen60 is hydro only, and the Ultimate carries the larger hydro package plus air massage.
  • Wheelchair transfer. The Transfer60 gives the transfer family its longest seat and footwell, with a 22 inch seat, an 18 1/2 inch seat length and 50 3/4 inches of interior length. What is the shortest wheelchair transfer tub and which come without jets? ranks it against the 52 inch transfer models.
  • Lying down. The LayDown60 has a flat floor of about 46 by 20 inches and no seat, with about 15 inches of soaking depth. It has no factory faucet option and needs a customer-supplied faucet, typically wall mounted.
  • Narrow alcove. The Lounger's 27 inch shell is what lets it fit a tight 60 inch opening, and its 20 inch seat is where the missing width shows up.
  • Assisted bathing. The HomeCare adds a fast-fill water tank and is the widest of the single-bather tubs at 31 1/2 inches on the drawing.
  • Two bathers. The Tub4Two and Companion put two seats in a 32 by 60 inch footprint, as massage tubs only.

If a soaker is the priority, Which Ella walk-in tubs can be ordered without jets and what are their footprints? lists every no-jet model from 52 to 60 inches. Not every model is offered without jets, so confirm with your Ella dealer or the team at (800) 480-6850 before you settle on a package, and ask for the spec sheet of any model in the table.

Questions fréquentes

Which Ella walk-in tubs are 60 inches long?
The Ultimate, Standard60, Zen60, Transfer60 and LayDown60 are 30 by 60 inches, the Lounger is 27 by 60, and the HomeCare transfer bathtub, Tub4Two and Companion are 32 by 60. All of them fill a standard 60 inch alcove without an extension panel.
Which 60 inch Ella tubs can be ordered without jets?
The Lounger, LayDown60, Transfer60 and HomeCare transfer bathtub are offered as soakers. The Ultimate, Standard60, Zen60 and the two-seat tubs come only with massage packages, so a 60 inch inward-swing seated soaker is not in the current lineup.
Does a 60 inch Ella tub actually measure 60 inches long?
Not always. The Lounger's drawing prints 59 inches, the HomeCare's prints 59 7/8 inches, and the LayDown60's prints 60 inches. Measure your alcove against the actual size on the spec sheet rather than the nominal size in the name.
Do 60 inch walk-in tubs need an extension panel?
No. The extension panel takes a 52 or 55 inch tub to a standard 60 inch opening. The Ultimate, Transfer60, two-seat models and the other 60 inch tubs meet both walls of the alcove on their own.
What is the narrowest 60 inch Ella walk-in tub?
The Lounger, at 27 inches wide nominal and 27 by 59 by 40 inches on its drawing. Its 20 inch seat is narrower than the 22 inch seat on the Transfer60, which is where the three inches of shell width show up.
